-     Marion’s Nathan Dorris, Cody Hafeli and Bryan Waldrop combined on a no-hitter with 12 strikeouts in a win over West Frankfort. Marion improved to 8-1 on the season.

-          Herrin’s Kyle Hudson threw a no-hitter and struck out eight batters against Carbondale in a 2-0 win.

-          O’Fallon’s Nick Tindall is killing the ball with a .568 average, 6 HRs and 21 RBI.

-          Edwardsville duo Michael Failoni and Dane Opel are leading the metro east in hitting at .700 and .667, respectively. Failoni also has 2 HRs and 25 RBI. Opel has 4 HRs and 16 RBI.

-          SIUE LHP recruit Tony Schaeffer threw a no hitter with 13 Ks in Carlyle’s 3-0 win over Red Bud.

-          Junior Caine Cloe from Shelbyville is also off to a good start hitting .473 with 4 homers and 13 RBI in only 19 at-bats.

-          Chad Green, a top 2010 prospect from Effingham, hit a 2-out walk off grand slam to beat Teutopolis 7-5.

-          Zach LaBuwi (Rend Lake) hit a walk off solo home run to win the game in the bottom of the 7^th as Benton beat Goreville 6-5.
