weather update - 1/31/15

Looking forward to seeing you Sunday at the 13th Annual Super 60. Just a quick heads up that the Chicago area is said to get 4-8 inches of snow between Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. For those unfamiliar with the Chicago area, this is not all that uncommon. Major thoroughfares are normally well-maintained for travel. Travel times may be slower, however, so please plan accordingly and give yourself enough time.

The Super 60 will start as planned unless something unusual happens. In the faint case that it does, you will be notified with changes.

Event Information

This prestigious, invitation-only event features only the top players in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. Over the last 12 years, the Super 60 has become one of the most heavily scouted preseason event for potential draft picks. The primary purpose of the Super 60 is to give professional area scouts and cross-checkers a head start to the high school season. The event is for Class of 2015 players and select 2016 prospects.

Last year, 82 professional scouts of all levels were in attendance. Since the event's inception in 2003, more than 200 players have been selected in the MLB Draft, including four first-round picks and eight second-rounders. Last year saw 17 of the 30 pitchers touch 90-mph or better, while 23 of the 46 position players ran sub-6.8 60s. Fifteen past Super 60 participants were selected in the top 25 rounds last year alone.

The Super 60 will be held on Sunday, February 1 at the Max-McCook Athletic & Exposition Center’s state of-the-art 125,000 square-foot open turf facility. The address is 4750 S. Vernon Ave., McCook, IL 60525, located in the southwest suburb of Chicago. Directions are available at www.max-mccook.com.
