Q & A with Central Arkansas Commit Logan Clark

Coming off a solid junior season in which he helped Smackover advance to the 3A state semi-finals game, LHP Logan Clark recently announced his commitment to the University of Central Arkansas.

We had a chance to visit with Clark regarding his decision and several other topics

PBR: Ultimately, why did you choose the University of Central Arkansas?

Clark: I chose the University of Central Arkansas because it just felt like home there and it felt like it was God’s plan for me to go there. I really like the program and the coaching staff as well. I also know quite a bit of players already playing there. I felt like this program could make me the best person/athlete that I could be.

PBR: Where did they first see you compete?

Clark: Xtra Innings, the summer after my 10th grade year.

PBR: When did you take your first official visit University of Central Arkansas?

Clark: I took my first official visit on November 27, 2014.

PBR: What role do the coaches expect you to play your first year on campus?

Clark: From what I have been told, they expect me to get quite a few innings but mainly be relief. I know I will have to work really hard though to make that happen.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Clark: I was considering the University of Arkansas and Arkansas State.

PBR: Who did you play for this summer? Talk about your experience playing for them?

Clark: I played for the Arkansas Express. It was a great experience playing with some of the best players in the state and being coached by some great coaches as well. I really enjoyed playing for them.

PBR: Who has had the biggest impact on you as a baseball player?

Clark: My dad has had the biggest impact on me. He played at the University of Arkansas and some Minor league ball in the Florida Marlins organization. He has taught me everything I know and supported me through the good and the bad.

PBR: What were your stats for your High School last spring?

Clark: 5-0 with a 1.97 ERA. Pitched 42 2/3 innings and gave up 17 hits. I had 89 strikeouts and 38 walks. I hit .333 with 19 RBIs and 15 stolen bases.

PBR: Who is the toughest hitter you've faced in Arkansas?

Clark: The toughest hitter I have ever faced would be Jordan Hauss from Lamar. He hit my fastball for a homerun, curveball for a double, and change-up for a single.
