We take a look at a few of the prospects I saw during my time on the road last week.

PITCHERS

Ty Harris,LHP, Rogers Heritage HS, 2015
Ty pitched 86-89 with his fastball that had arm-side run, and he commanded it well. His secondary stuff showed improvement from the last time I saw him. The curve-ball 66-68 with good action, it was a little erratic, but is a swing and miss pitch. He commanded the change-up in all counts. It looks like the Arkansas commit is close to a full recovery from his Tommy John surgery.

Adam Scoggins, LHP, Har-Ber HS, 2016
Adam pitched off his fastball (78-81) with command of all three pitches curve-ball (62-65) and the change-up (69-72).  The fastball is heavy with sink. The change-up is a real weapon due to throwing with the same arm speed and its late movement. The curve-ball has 1/7 movement is a good third pitch. The 6-4 frame makes me think that he will add velocity as he continues to develop.

Adam Bradshaw, RHP, Heber Springs HS, 2017
Adam commanded the strike zone with his fastball (78-80) The arm action is clean and the mechanics are repeatable. The off-speed pitches are a work in progress. He spun his curve-ball for a strike but needs more depth to be considered an out pitch.

POSITION PLAYERS

Paul Rouse, OF, Bentonville HS, 2015
Paul  had a good day at the plate getting two hits and stealing three bases. One of his hits was an infield single where he ran a 3.97 down the line. This University of Central Arkansas commit has a short compact swing that stays on plane through extension.

Carter Brown, OF/RHP, Bentonville HS, 2016
Carter showed good bat speed driving a double into the pull side gap. He uses the lower half well. On the mound he was impressive locating his fastball (86-88) on both sides of the plate striking out the side in the first inning. The fastball is heavy with some sink action. The second inning he struggled with command mixing in the slider and change up. Both pitches had good action, but struggled to command.

Garrett Carmical,MIF, Heritage HS, 2017
Garrett handled the bat well, having tough at bats and hitting single to right and a couple of walks. He was impressive after he reached base stealing 4 bags including home. Defensively he showed good action, athletic footwork and an average arm.
