A review of the top unsigned seniors the PBR Arkansas Staff has scouted over the past week,

Seth Woods and Cole Morgan stood out at the Crossett Tournament. Michael Coven showed well against Arkadelphia and Luke Wewers was solid against Harding Academy.

Michael Coven, MIF/RHP, Sylvan Hills HS
Coven is a 5-foot-11 140-pound infielder with an athletic frame and a thin build. Defensively he works through the baseball with fluid footwork, he uses a normal exchange and quick clean arm action to throw the baseball accurately across the infield with carry. Offensively he starts with an athletic stance he uses a line drive swing to attack the baseball. He is an above average athlete running a 4.15 home to first. Overall Coven is a premium athlete with above average defensive skills, as he adds weight he will improve as an offensive player.

Cole Morgan, MIF/RHP, Stuttgart HS
Morgan is a 6-foot-0 175-pound right-hander with an athletic frame and build. Morgan competes in the strike zone with three quality high school pitches. His fastball works 82-85 mph, his curveball is thrown 74-76 mph with 11/5 shape and late break and his changeup is thrown 73-75 mph with arm side run. He pitches from a H ¾ arm slot with a short arm action with normal arm speed. He is able to locate consistently due to his ability to repeat his simple delivery and normal rhythm. Overall Morgan has and advanced feel to pitch and has had consistent success getting hitters out. On the season Morgan has struck out 33 hitters in 16 innings of work, walking 3 hitters with an ERA of 1.75.

Morgan has been productive player as a position player hitting .480 through the first  8 games with 11 RBIs a double a triple and a home run. He is a solid athlete that plays through the baseball with a fluid footwork, he uses a quick exchange and a strong accurate arm. Offensively he starts with a balanced stance, uses a minimum load stride combination, he attacks the baseball with line drive swing, maintaining balance through extension.

Luke Wewers, C, Catholic HS
Wewers is a 6-foot 190-pound catcher with a solid frame and an average build. Offensively he uses a balanced stance with a minimum load. He swings uphill with his hands starting from a lower slot. His swing has some rotation to it. He produces exit velocity up to 86 mph.  Defensively he sets up with an athletic stance. He maintains proper glove angles while receiving. He shows proper technique and effort while blocking. His pop times are 2.07-2.19. Overall Wewers is a solid defender with some pull power potential as a hitter.

Seth Woods, CIF, Crossett HS
Woods is a 6-foot-2 240-pound infielder with a large frame and an average build. Offensively he starts from a balanced stance, he uses a minimum load and stride. He attacks the baseball with a line drive swing, with rotation. He shows a feel for the barrel and pull power potential. Defensively he  plays the baseball with choppy footwork he throws the baseball from a low 3/4 arm slot accurately with a short arm action. Overall Woods is a large framed player with bat speed and a feel for the barrel. Through 7 games this spring he is hitting .474 with 6 RBIs and 5 runs scored.
