Underclass Games: Top Performers

The Underclass Games were Tuesday June 30th, at Arkansas State University. This showcase consisted of some of the top players in the 2017 and 2018 class from all corners of the state. Here is a look at some of the top performers.

2017 C/OF Mckinley Williams, Sheridan HS
Williams is a 6-foot-2 175-pound C/OF with a large frame and an athletic build. He swung it well during batting practice squaring balls up on a consistent basis. He starts from a slightly open stance, works online through the baseball with a slight uphill bat path. He produced exit velocities up to 84 mph. He had productive at bats going 3 for 4 with 2 triples and 4 RBIs. Defensively he threw out 2 runners attempting to steal during the games. Overall Williams is a physical athlete that has above average tools, a player to follow in the 2017 class.

2017 MIF Casey Martin, Lonoke HS
Martin is a 6-foot, 175-pound MIF with a medium frame and an athletic build. Martin attacks the baseball with compact swing and fast bat speed. He showed his ability to drive the ball when he hit a home run during his game. Defensively Martin shows his plus athletic ability showing smooth footwork with a quick exchange and strong arm 88 mph across the infield.

2017 INF/RHP Logan Easley, Heritage HS
Easley is a 6-foot 155-pound INF/RHP with a large frame and an athletic build. Easley played limited due to a pulled a quadriceps. He did pitch and showed advanced arm strength in a match up against summer teammate 2017 CIF Paxton Wallace. He pitched his one inning of work 82-85 mph with an 11/5 curveball with depth. Against Wallace he commanded the strike zone with fastballs 86, 88, 89, and 88 mph. He ended the at bat with a change up with depth thrown with near fastball arm speed and 74 mph to induce a groundball out.

2018 MIF Pate Fullerton, Harding Academy HS
Fullerton is a 5-foot-9 145-pound short-stop with a medium frame and a thin build. Defensively he stood out showing soft hands and good actions. He plays through the baseball with fluid footwork. His exchange is quick; his arm is loose and accurate. Offensively he has a short compact swing with a line drive bat path. He sprayed the ball to all fields during batting practice and during the games picking up 2 hits. Overall Fullerton is polished player with good actions, he needs to add strength but a definite follow over the next two years.

2017 CIF Adrian Hannah, Searcy HS
Hannah is a 6-foot-2 200-pound corner infielder with a large frame and physical build. He was the most polished left-handed hitter in the games. His uphill bat path with fast bat speed produces exit velocity up to 88 mph. He repeats his swing maintaining rhythm and balance throughout. Defensively he has some stiffness to his hands and foot work but performed well during games. He has an accurate arm with a fluid exchange. Overall Hannah is a polished hitter, as he develops athletically he will improve defensively and should develop into a quality collegiate player.
