Underclassmen Showcase: Infielder

The Underclassmen Showcase was October 4th at Little Rock Christian Academy. There was several good players in attendance, we have looked at catchers and outfielders. Now we break down the top infielders from this event.

Luke Bandy, INF/RHP, Shiloh Christian HS, 2016
The 6-foot 175 pound INF/RHP showed several tools during the work out. He ran his 60 in 6.75 He had smooth defensive actions with solid footwork and registered up to 82 mph across the diamond during defensive work. Bandy showed fast bat-speed and some raw power with an uphill swing plane. On the mound he worked his inning with a fastball of 81-84 that showed late life. His curveball had 10/4 action with sharp break that he threw for strikes to put hitters away.

Blake Wynn, INF/RHP, Star City HS, 2016
The 6-foot 160 pound INF/RHP had good defensive actions with a good exchange. He was consistently 83 mph across the infield, Offensively he has a good bat speed registering an 83 mph during exit velocity testing. Wynne starts from an open stance and has aline drive swing. He is another dual player. He looked good on the mound working off his fastball 80-84. He threw is curveball for strikes. His curveball was 64-66 with 10/4 shape, but lacked depth. His change up was good with fastball arm speed and arm-side run.

Joe Myers, MIF, Central HS, 2016
The 6-foot-2 175 pound MIF, has a project-able  frame and good hands defensively. Joe ran a 7.12 in the 60 and threw 75 mph during defensive work. Offensively he starts from an open stance, and has a solid lower half. His exit velocity topped out at 86 mph, he showed signs of pull power and has a slightly uphill bat path.

Harrison Rutledge, MIF, Maumelle HS, 2016
Rutledge a 6-foot-160 pound MIF, showed good athleticism running a 6.9 sixty and fluid footwork and defensive actions. He posses a loose arm and fluid exchange. Offensively he registered an 81 mph during exit speed velocity. He is a raw hitter that out athletes balls and finds barrel on a consistent basis
