The Underclassmen Showcase was October 4th at Little Rock Christian Academy. There was several good players in attendance, as the week continues we will look at the top players from each position. Today we will focus on the top outfielders.

Evan Hooper, OF, Cabot HS, 2017
The 5 foot 11 165 pound outfielder blew up the stop watch running back to back 6.51 and 6.55 in the 60. He continues to show off his tools in other areas, throwing 83 from the outfield and registering 86 on exit velocity. His swing starts with a balance set up and he has a short swing with fast bat speed.

Ryan Hunter, OF/MIF, Maummelle HS, 2016

Hunter starts from a closed stance mechanically his hand path and balance is well above average for a hitter his age. The lower half never gets online after starting closed. In the other areas we tested he did well, running a 7.10 in the 60 and velocity readings from the outfield were 76-79 mph.

The 5 foot 11 200 pound outfielder, had a good day offensively. The lefthander starts from an athletic stance with a short stride and maintains good balance through contact. He has fast bat speed and raw power registering 86 on his exit velocity. Athletically he ran a 7.1 in the 60 and 4.13 home to first. Defensively he was sound showing an accurate arm.
