In the past year Prep Baseball Report Colorado has had the opportunity to cover amateur baseball like no other organization has ever been able to do before in the state of Colorado. Between scouting numerous games  and recently having a great opportunity to see more 2019 grads at the Underclass Invitational in January, we have created our first rankings for the 2019 Class. These rankings will for sure grow and change before the end of spring. Our next 2019 rankings will be posted after the spring season, then again after our Top Prospect Games in August.

Our No. 1 overall 2019 is SS/RHP Riley Cornelio of Pine Creek High School. A 6-foot-2, 160-pound right hand hitter who ran a 4.5 home to first.   At the plate he hits from a wide balanced stance.  He has a short stride and good weight transfer through the zone.  Quick hands helped produce an 86 MPH exit velocity.  On the mound stand tall and then gets compact during his motion.  He lands slightly closed and throws across his body.  He gets good extension out front on his fastball, which registered at 85 MPH with good command of the plate.  He added a 68 MPH curve with sweeping 10/4 break and a 74 MPH change.   In the field he shows smooth actions and quick feet to the ball.  He works well on balls to the backhand side.  He featured an 82 MPH arm with accuracy.   Identified as the best two way player and most projectable 2019 player at the UCI. 

Our No. 2 ranked 2019 is RHP/1B Davis Heller of Valor Christian. 6-foot-5, 175 pounds. Bats and throws right. Heller is a big projectable body with a lot of potential. Heller has already established himself as one of the Eagles top options on the mound as a freshman. He currently is 4-0 with a 2.58 ERA. In 19 innings Heller has struck out 25 batters. Heller throws a heavy fastball that sits at 83-84 mph and a lot of movement into right handers. Curveball has 11/5 shape sitting at 72 mph with good tilt. We love Heller's upside and has the frame to develop a fastball that sits in the low 90's.

Coming in at No. 3 in our rankings is OF of Bryce Mathews of Chaparral. 6-foot-4, 175 pounds. Bats left and throws right. Has a ton of power potential. The freshman is already making an impact in the Wolverine lineup currently hitting .304 with a homerun and 6 RBI's.
