PBR All Colorado Team: Corners/DH

By John Cackowski
Director of Scouting

PBR Colorado will be presenting the PBR All-Colorado Team over the course of the next week. Players chosen for the PBR All-Colorado Team are players that not only performed well during the season, helped their team have success on the field, but also were seen in front of the PBR Colorado scouting staff in the form of a past PBR Colorado events or a game. We kicked off the PBR All-Colorado team with the Outfielders and Catchers. Today we continue with the corners/DH

John Sorensen SS / 3B / Rocky Mountain, CO / 2017

6-foot, 170 pounds. Bats left and throws right. Our pick for PBR All-Colorado 3B, you could argue that Sorensen is the best left handed hitter in the state. The Kansas State commit led the Lobos to another 5A State championship by hitting .458 with 38 RBI's, 9 doubles, and 6 homeruns. Sorenson also went 6-0 on the mound pitching 51 innings striking out 55 while carrying a 3.14 ERA. Sorensen was the winning pitcher in the 5A state championship game.

Matthew Turner 1B / Broomfield, CO / 2017

6-foot-5, 175 pounds. Bats and throws right. Turner has always flown under the radar a little, but this year he was a big reason why the Broomfield Eagles were able to reach the 5A State Championship. The Colorado mesa hit .446 and led the Eagles with 33 RBI's, 9 doubles, and 6 homeruns.

Jordan Stubbings 3B / 1B / Legend , CO / 2017

6-foot-3, 215 pounds. Bats and throws right. Our choice for PBR All Colorado DH, Stubbings was arguably the best hitter at the 5A level in 2017. The Colorado Mesa commit helped lead Legend to the 5A quarter finals by leading the Titans in every important offensive category. Stubbings hit .526 with 39 RBI's, 7 doubles, 3 triples, and 10 homeruns.
