PBR Colorado Spotlight Game: Team Colorado vs Team Missouri

Wilburton, OK:

The Junior Sunbelt Classic started today, and the first draw for Team Colorado was Team Missouri. RHP Preston Snavely would get the nod on the bump for Colorado. Snavely was impressive in his four innings pitched giving up 4 hits and one unearned run with 5 strikeouts.

Team Colorado would get their first run in the bottom of the 2nd inning. OF Bailey Collins would get a two-out hit, steal second base, and then Jerome Bohannon would drive him in to tie the score 1-1.

LHP Brice Johnson would relieve Snavely in the 5th inning and an effortless 1,2,3 inning. In the bottom of the inning it looked like Team Colorado was going to start pulling away taking a 4-1 lead off a 2-out, 2 RBI double from OF Quin Cotton, the Cotton would be driven in by 3B Jake Eissler.

In the top of the 6th Team Colorado got a little sloppy. Missouri would lead off with an error by Aaron Hammann at second base, then Johnson walked two batters that would eventually score on a passed ball and base hit to cut the lead 4-3. RHP Dalton Lind would come in relief but walked to first two batters he faced, the last one would bring in a run to tie the score 4-4. Lind would then get a ground ball to end the inning.

In the bottom of the 6th Team Colorado would put the game away. 1B Zane Phelps and OF Cameron Brown would would lead off the inning with a HBP putting runners on 1st and 2nd. Bohannon would then lay down a perfect bunt to reach first base loading the bases. C Riley Gregory, and Hammann would each walk bringing in 2 more runs, then Quin Cotton would clear the bases with a triple to right center, and DH Matt Burkart would bring him in lining a base hit off the pitcher making the score 10-4. LHP Austin Alarid would pitch a clean 7th to end the game.

Next up for Team Colorado is Team Mississippi at 2:00 CT today.
