KEY PLAYER LOST:

13 of the 16 wins the Eagles had were from the hands of Laydon and Sony Arellano. The Eagles also went 9-1 against Pueblo West, Pueblo South, Pueblo County, and Pueblo Centennial in 2014

BOTTOM LINE:

The Pueblo West Eagles had a great year in 2014 only to lost to the eventual 4A state champions Green Mountain 4-3 in extra innings. The Eagles return 2015 Andres Acuna,  5-foot-11, 190-pound switch hitting SS and Dodge City commit. Acuna has great bat speed and good actions in the infield. Acuna is a solid player who will be the main offensive weapon in the Eagles lineup. Acuna hit .461 in 2014 with 12 doubles and 3 triples. 2015 RHP Sonny Arellano will come back to anchor the pitching staff. In 2014 Arellano was a solid No. 2. pitcher. In 2014 Arellano was 5-0 with a 2.17 E.R.A. in 48 IP. 2015 INF Andrew Vigil also returns to help give depth the Eagles lineup hitting .390 in 2014. The Pueblo teams always beat up on each other every year. Last year the Eagles came out on top in the South Central League and were one inning away from a 4A Final 8 appearance. They have a lot of young depth in their program ready to come up and contribute.
