Q&A with Preseason All-State Participant: Tino Vigil

Prep Baseball Report Colorado is getting ready for the start of the high school spring baseball season with the Preseason All State event on February 22nd at Slammers South.  Over the course of this final week we will showcase several of the participants at this year's event.  Continuing our look is Tino Vigil, 2015, 5-foot-11, 165 pound, SS/RHP from Bishop Machebeuf Catholic High School.

PBR:  Describe yourself as a baseball player to those who have never seen you play: 

Vigil:  Reliable, I make the routine plays, move the runners when I need to and throw strikes when we need to get out of the inning. 

PBR:  What would be your dream school to play baseball at?  If you have already committed to play at the next level, why did you choose that particular school? 

Vigil:  Oregon would by first choice and CSU-Pueblo would be my second choice

PBR:  What are your best assets on and off the field at this point in your high school career?

Vigil:  Consistency, I try my best to make the plays when the teams needs a play and put the ball in play when we need a run. 

PBR:  What does your off-season preparation look like this year compared to you freshman year?

Vigil:  Strength and conditioning more so during the senior year.

PBR:  What is the best baseball advice you have received and try to follow to this point in your career?

Vigil:  Out work my competition, never assume my position is secure.

PBR:  What are your superstitions or routines that go on during a season?

Vigil:  Eating a milky way before a game. 

PBR:  What are your goals for:

This Season:  Lead my team in fielding percentage, ERA and RBI's... If I can do this my team will be successful. 

Two Years:  Play college baseball and help my team win games.

Four Years:  Graduate from College with a Degree in Business and be considered a leader on my team.
