Q&A with Underclass Invitational Participant Evan Conklin

Prep Baseball Report Colorado is ready to hit the ground running in 2015 with two major events.  With the Underclass Invitational at Slammers South just two weeks away, limited spots are still available for this event. Over the next two weeks, PBR Colorado will continue to introduce you to 2017 and 2018 players who have committed to this event.  Continuing our second round look at registered players is 6-foot-3, 180-pound, RHP 2017 Evan Conklin from Littleton High School.

PBR:  Describe yourself as a baseball player to those who have never seen you play:

Conklin:  Response:  I play big and strong with intensity and focus.

PBR:  What would be your dream school to play baseball at?

Conklin:  Response: A school with strong academics and an established baseball program.

PBR:  What are your best assets on and off the field at this point in your high school career?

Conklin:  Response: On field as a pitcher and hitter it is my size and strength. Off field it is my dedication to getting high grades in advanced courses.

PBR:  What does your off-season preparation look like this year compared to you freshman year?

Conklin:  Response: This year I played competitive fall baseball and attended winter baseball workouts, as well as lifting and working with my pitching coach. 

PBR:  What is the best baseball advice you have received and try to follow to this point in your career?

Conklin:  Response: Give full effort every pitch since it is a play waiting to happen.

PBR:  What are your superstitions or routines that go on during a season?

Conklin:  Response: Certain music before games.

PBR:  What are your goals for:

This Season: To pitch at the Varsity level.

Two Years:  Be a top strikeout leader statewide.

Four Years: Playing baseball at an academically challenging college or university.
