The Classes of 2017 and 2018 were on display on Wednesday July 23rd at the Colorado Futures Showcase at Dakota Ridge High School.

1.) Jake Barr, SS/RHP, Mullen High School, 2018

Jake is a solid incoming freshman that is quickly developing all five tools.  Jake has a strong athletic frame at 5-7, 155 lbs that will allow him to continue to develop his talents.  Barr has a strong and accurate arm, (73 infield velo, 77 outfield velo, 72-75 fastball, 62-64 curveball with sharp break)  At the plate Barr has a powerful lower body that help him generate 81 mph exit velo from the cage.

2.) Brock Bernall, Catcher, Pomona High School, 2018

Brock put his talents on display all over the field at the showcase.  Bernall is an athletic looking incoming freshman that stands at 5-9, and weighs 155 lbs. Bernall ran a 7.06 60 and has a quick first step out of the box on batted balls.  Bernall looked good as a catcher with a 2.10 pop time, but on the mound is where he left his mark.  Brock topped out at 77 with his fastball and added a 64 mph curve and a 68 mph change with late downward movement.  At the plate, Bernall has good power to the left side and up the middle, his exit velo topped out at 78.

3.) Jake Bielat, MIF, Mullen High School, 2018

At 5-4, 125 lbs, Jake is a prototypical middle infielder, athletic and agile. Batting right and throwing right,  he plays second base now, but could develop into a solid shortstop or three-bagger as he continues to grow.  Jake left his impression with the PBR staff at the plate.  Bielat has a very smooth compact swing that generates a 78 mph exit velo on his 125lb frame.  Jake does a nice job of hitting to all fields and has good drive to the allies.

4.) Liam Mann, P/OF Chatfield High School, 2018

Class of 2018 found some height with Mann, standing 5-10 and weighing 135 lbs, he is going to continue to grow.  A solid pitcher who had command of three pitchers on Wednesday, Mann topped out at 68, but had nice control in and out and up and down.  As his arm catches up with his height he will have a dominant presence on the mound. Liam bats right and throws right.
