Let’s take a look at the statistical breakdown from this January’s Underclass Invitational Showcase.

Top Fastball Velocity

Regis Jesuit's Caleb Sloan touched 89 mph on the mound, sitting 87-89 mph with nice run on his two-seamer. 8 prospects threw 80 mph or better, several of which project to throw harder thanks to their athleticism and large frames.

2017 Broomfield teammates James Notary, Mason Speirs and Aidan Arroyo all touched 80. Notary had the 2nd best fastball at the event touching 85 mph from a physical 6-foot-2, 180-frame, and Speirs was lived at 80 mph from a square delivery from a 3/4 arm slot with good extension to the plate. Arroyo had a high 3/4 arm slot with a 10-5 slurve with late tilt.

Both Mountain Range SS/RHP Jacob Arellano and ThunderRidge Cody Kohl showed good velocity sitting in the lower 80's. Arrellano had a loose arm and has an impressive three-pitch mix, and creates excellent arm speed from a 5-foot-8, 140 -pound frame. Kohl comes right at you with good extention to the plate and square delivery from a 3/4 arm-slot. Had great deception with his 72 mph change up that drops late in the zone.

New face OF/LHP Toby Scoles of Pine Creek showed a strong arm from the outfield throwing 84 mph, and also brought good velocity to the mound at 82 mph with good down angle.

6-3 185-pound Jacob Hilton of Arapahoe, and 6-2, 220-pound Asthon Mansur of Columbine showed strong physical presence on the mound with high projectability throwing 80 mph.
