Every Friday National Scouting Supervisor Nathan Rode provides a roundup of insider recruiting information and commitments throughout the PBR coverage area: The Buzz. Click Here to take a look at this week’s National Buzz. With that in mind, let’s take an in depth look at some of the top unsigned prospects in the state of Florida with detailed scouting information.

Sawyer Wirth, OF, East Lake, 2015

Last week Sawyer drove in 5 runs in East Lake’s 8-0 victory over Countryside. Going 2-4 at the plate with a double and a triple.

2/3/15 - Unsigned Senior. 6-foot-1, 170 pound outfielder with a loose lean athletic projectable body. Has a good approach with a loose bat and good hand eye. Makes a lot of contact. Will improve with added strength. Not a lot of power right now but has good hand eye.  Good actions in OF with enough arm and good instincts. Ran a 4.2 to 1B. Can play at the college level. Was 1-3 with a line drive double to left center.

Brett Coffel, C, Lake Minneola, 2015

2/6/15 - Uncommitted Senior. 5-foot-10, 180 pound catcher with a stocky strong body. Short compact swing with a good path. Has quickness in hands. Bat will improve with added strength. Competes in the box. Makes a lot of contact. Solid defender with decent hands and a very good arm. Avg ML arm. Good release. Looks like he’s around a 2.0 to 2B. Blocks well. Hustles. Looks like he likes to play.

Christian James, RHP, East Lake, 2016

2/3 - Uncommitted Junior. 6-foot-4, 210 pound right hander with a tall lean projectable body. Short in back with some arm speed. Effort in delivery. Lands across his body. FB has sink with some tilt at 85-86 mph. CV has good ¾ rotation at 72-74 mph. Occasionally goes around it but throws it for strikes.

Garrison Bryant, RHP, Clearwater, 2016

2/4/15 - Uncommitted Junior. 6-foot-3, 185 pound right hander with a tall lean loose athletic projectable body with a young face. On the mound he had a loose easy working arm at a H3/4 slot. Delivery was in line and fluid. Gets over the front side fairly consistently and repeats his delivery. Throwing a lot of strikes. In his wind-up he has a high leg kick and turns in slightly but keeps his head on the target. FB has good down tilt at 83-86 MPH. CV was 68-70 MPH with an 11/5 break. It shows a little more depth the harder he throws it. He also has a good feel for his changeup at 76-77 MPH. Throws it with good arm speed and has some fade to it. Will be a future avg ML pitch. High ceiling athletic kid. More velocity will come. Competed very well. Against IMG he went four innings (three scoreless) and gave up three runs to a very deep lineup. Also is a highly recruited QB in football.
