ST. PETERSBURG – Indian Rocks Christian and Calvary Christian battled each other Friday night for their district title. A hard-fought nine inning game was eventually won by Indian Rocks 3-2. 2015 RHP/UTL George Koulianos threw multiple scoreless innings for Indian Rocks and had the walk off single to give his team the win.

The game was scoreless until the bottom of the third when Indian Rocks struck first—one on an error and one on a groundout to short stop. The very next inning, however, the Warriors were able to get those two runs back on a double by 2018 1B Cavan Ingram.

The momentum seemed to sway back and forth but no one could break the 2-2 tie for five innings. Both teams stranded multiple runners throughout the game and especially in the later innings. Unfortunately for Calvary, Indian Rocks was the home team and able to win on Koulianos’s walk off base hit to right in the ninth inning. Thankfully, after this emotional game, both teams will still advance to their regional tournament next week.
