Jacksonville Warriors Area Showcase Rundown

This past weekend Prep Baseball Report made its rounds across the state scouting some of the best travel baseball organizations showcases and tryouts. PBR Florida was in attendance this past Saturday for the Jacksonville Warriors Area Showcase. With many college and pro scouts in attendance at Florida State College at Jacksonville, the Warriors had a tremendous turnout. Below is a rundown of some of the top performers as well as other standouts.

Top 60 – 6.7: Zachary Greene (2015), OF, Atlantic Coast

Top Velo – 87: Kyle Morton (2015), RHP, Fleming Island

Top Pop Time – 1.86: Mike Cassala (2015), C, Bartram Trail

Notable Performances:

Mike Cassala (2015) C – The Jacksonville University commit from Bartram Trail HS had a strong showing posting the best pop time of 1.86 to 2B and 1.48 to 3B. During BP Cassala displayed gap to gap power with a balanced approach.

Keenan Bell (2016) OF – The Stanton College Prep and Florida commit was solid at the Warriors showcase. In the outfield, Bell showed off his strong arm with accurate throws that seemed effortless. During BP, Bell barreled up plenty of baseballs and displayed his power getting to extension and driving some baseballs.

Nathan Hickey (2019) C – Hickey was impressive at the Warriors showcase. With a quick transfer, he had a pop time of 2.10 to 2B and 1.72 to 3B. A left handed hitter, Hickey squared up a good number of baseballs during his BP session. Keeping his barrel in the zone, Hickey’s swing plane produced plenty of line drives. The young, athletic framed Providence catcher stood out with his performance.
