The Top Stories Of 2015: Final Thoughts On The 2015 Draft

We are now less than 48 hours away from the New Year and every high school baseball fan in Florida should be excited about what 2016 has in store. Without a doubt, dozens of high school players will be drafted and many of those who do not sign will go on to have productive careers at division I programs. Not only will we be looking forward to the draft, but the 2017 class will begin to be heavily scouted by professional teams this summer and their All-American Games will be played in August. Fortunately for us, we are in a thrilling era for amateur baseball, especially in our state.

In roughly a month, the high school season will kick off and the top prospects around the state will begin to get thoroughly examined by Major League Scouts. In January of 2015 we knew who most of the top players were, but what we knew and had projected in the beginning of the season ended up having to be exposed to some fairly significant changes by the time June rolled around. This year will almost certainly be the same as we will likely project some players correctly in the slot they are picked, some players will be selected on a completely different day than we expected, and some players will not get drafted at all.

Today’s article being resurrected is one written by our National Supervisor, Nathan Rode. This piece broke down his final thoughts on the 2015 drafts and what teams made the best selection. Here is his article that included players from all over the country but was dominated by Florida prospects.
