Weekly Rundown: Flanagan Pitcher Wins 30th, Alonso Wins Saladino, And More

Staton Prep

Moises Pichardo has been the 2-way star for coach John Turner at Staton Prep this year. Moises is 3-0 on the year throwing 19 innings and not giving up an earned run. At the plate he is hitting .455 on the season.

Indian Rocks Christian

Behind Daniel Llerena Indian Rocks Christian is off to an 11-3 start to the season. In 12 games this season Llerena is hitting .613-2-9, with an OBP of .731 aided by walking 18 times and only striking out once. George Koulianos is batting .396 on the year with a team leading 19 RBIs. 

Flanagan High School

Gentry Fortuno picked up his 30th career win on Saturday throwing a complete game 2-hit shutout bringing his career record to 30-2. Florida Atlantic commit Eric Rivera is hitting .515 on the year with 2 HRs and 13 RBIs, he also leads the county with 8 doubles on the season. 

McKeel Academy

Ross Nelson continues to stay hot on the mound throwing 35 innings so far this year without issuing a walk. This past week he threw his fourth shutout of the year defeating Avon Park 8-0, he scattered four singles and struck out seven. 

Tate High School

Branden Fryman- batting .415 on the year with 3 2Bs and a 3B
Sawyer Smith
- batting .368 on the season with 5 2Bs, 2 HRs, and 10 SB
Cole Halfacre
- batting .424 with 3 2Bs, and thrown out 60% of would be base stealers
Hunter Worley
- batting .440 on the year with 7 RBIs

Alonso High School

Last week Alonso won the annual Saladino Tournament with a 1-0 victory over Jesuit. Jose Ciccarello was named tournament MVP.
