Prep Baseball Report Iowa

The Prep Baseball Report Preseason All-State at SportsPlex West in Waukee, IA will take place on Sunday, March 13, 2016.

The Invite Only event is for 2017 and 2018 graduates.

This Sunday marks the second Preseason All-State event in PBR Iowa history. The inaugural Preseason All-State event took place last winter. 22 participants from last year’s event have committed to college baseball programs; with 4 to D1. 3B Brendan Dougherty (Dowling, 2016) to Bradley, 3B/RHP Javin Drake (Wilton, 2016) to Western Illinois, and 1B/RHP Connor Lindaman (Davenport Assumption, 2016) and OF Ben Norman (D.M. Roosevelt, 2016) to Iowa.

Two player's participating in this year's event have made their college commitments. 2018 Daniel Powers, RHP, (Davenport Assumption) has committed to Kansas State and 2018 Clayton Nettleton, RHP/3B (Davenport West) verbaled to Iowa in September.

This year’s event is over 100 participants. The event is bound to bring some new names to the forefront as many are young and new to PBR events.

Four player's are ranked in the Top 10 in the 2017 class with 3B Izaya Ono-Fullard (Iowa City West), RHP Jarred Wood (Cedar Rapids Jefferson), SS/OF Greg Bennett (Western Dubuque), and C Joel Thompson (Council Bluffs Lewis Central). Overall 22 players ranked in the Top 50 in Iowa's 2017 Class will be in attendance. Eight player's from Minnesota will also make their trek down to the Hawkeye state led by OF/3B Tyler Fietek (Lakeville North), OF Alex Lindstrom (Eastview), LHP Danny Kapala (Eastview), and C Nick Juaire (Lakeville North, 2018).

We are looking forward to seeing who is primed to make a statement come this Sunday.
