Evaluation: 8/7/16- 6-foot-2, 165-pound left-handed hitting outfielder. Lean loose athletic build. Spread stance, front heel turn trigger, stays connected, short to contact, minor extra movement with eyes and head to contact, mid/pull approach, solid line drive and ground ball contact, 86 mph exit velocity. Above avg. actions in field, plays through ball, fields on side occasionally, above avg. arm action, loose with hand quickness, carry to target with accuracy, 89 mph arm strength.

PBR: What schools have you been hearing from?
SIMON: Morehead State, Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, Illinois State, Upper Iowa, Marshalltown CC, Johnson County CC, Kirkwood CC, DMACC, and several Division 3 schools.

PBR: Have you taken any visits? Do you have any scheduled in the near future?
SIMON: I had a great visit at Marshalltown; and I currently plan on taking visits to Kirkwood CC, DMACC, Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, Johnson County CC, and possibly Illinois State.

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school?
SIMON: A solid education in Business Administration is quite important to me as well as baseball.

PBR: What were some of the highlights of your junior year?
SIMON: My high school team and I made it to the sub state final, but we came up a little short of the state tournament. My avg. was .358, and my OBP was .507. I walked 31 times and was successful 29 of 32 on stolen base attempts. My speed also increased this year due to my involvement in track in which I qualified for the State Track Meet in 3 different events.

PBR: What are your goals for this year? 
SIMON: My goals for this coming year include improving my GPA, getting bigger and stronger, making the state tournament, and becoming the best baseball player I can be.

PBR: Do you play any other sports?
SIMON: I currently play baseball, basketball, and run track.

PBR: GPA/ACT/SAT?
SIMON: My ACT score is currently a 24, and my GPA is a 3.43. I plan on retaking the ACT this fall and continue taking college credit classes throughout this year.
