RIVER FOREST, IL – In the semifinal of the 4A Fenwick Regional, Fenwick walked off Notre Dame with a 2-1 victory to advance to the Regional Championship.

With the game moving at a brisk pace as rain approached the area, Fenwick managed to get two runners on in the bottom of the seventh off Notre Dame starter Paul Bergstrom. Anthony Cavalieri singled to start the inning and with two outs Harrison Hayes was hit by a pitch to put runners on first and second. Sherman Martin hits a ground ball to first base and beat the play out. Without Notre Dame noticing Cavalieri was off on contact and did not stop as he rounded third and came home to score the winning run without a play.

Notre Dame got on the board firs in the second inning when Ty Gavin singled to start the inning and came around to score on an RBI single by Dylan Coleman. Fenwick tied the game up in the bottom of the fifth on an RBI single from Sherman Martin to score Jack Grace.
