Class of 2017 Showcase: Stats Posted

The Prep Baseball Report Class of 2017 Showcase took place on Sunday October 18th at the MAX in McCook, Illinois. Over 110 players took part in a pro style workout in front of the PBR Scouting Staff and a number of College Coaches.
Several prospects shined in multiple areas at the event and flashed a combination of skills that can play at the next level.
Outfielder and third baseman Easton Bertrand of Manteno High School showed the top velocities of the event from the infield and the outfield. Bertrand was 90 mph from the outfield and 86 mph across the diamond on the infield. He also ran the second fastest 60 yard dash, 6.79 and had one of the top exit velocities at 91 mph.
Left-handed hitting outfielder Mike Addante of Jacobs High School also showed an impressive set of tools on Sunday. Ran a 6.84 60, was 88 mph from the outfield and had the second best exit velocity at 95 mph.
Left-handed hitting catcher Jackson Petersen of Libertyville High School was clocked at 80 mph from the crouch and registered a sub 2.0 pop time on one of his throws.
Outfielder Thomas Larson of Familes of the Faith High School ran the top 60 time of the event, 6.72, and registered the second best outfield velocity, 89 mph.
There were also a couple of pitchers that stood out on the mound. Right-handed pitcher Jeffery Zack of Romeoville High School sat a heavy 88-90 mph. Right-handed pitcher Ken Brokop of Bradley-Bourbannais was 86-89 mph with a quick arm and late life. 6-foot-7 right-handed pitcher Austin Marozas of Plainfield South High School impressed once again on the mound and solidified himself as one of, if not the best, unsigned arms in the Class of 2017. Marozas sat 87-89 with plus arm-side-run.
