Suburban Christian Crossover

Montini 7, Aurora Central Catholic 6
Montini (12-3; 8-2 Blue) outlasted Aurora Central Catholic (17-3; 8-2 Gold) in a battle of SCC divisional leaders in ten interesting innings at Benedictine University in Lisle. In a game that had 13 runs, 21 hits, 11 errors and more controversial calls by the umpires than one could imagine, the Broncos of Montini prevailed. The Broncos won the game in the bottom off the 10th, fittingly on the 11th error of this game; the sixth by ACC.

The Broncos were led by junior LF Tyler Trumpane (2-for-4, 3B, 2R) who after leading off the bottom of the seventh with a triple was awarded home plate for ACC obstruction, by the base umpire. The umpires had a five-minute conversation and Trumpane was once again awarded home plate with the tying run and the game moved to extra innings.

The Chargers were led by their senior CF Phil Schuetz, who had three hits including two clutch two-out RBI doubles and three RBI.
