Connor Spear
allowed one hit in five innings while striking out seven for the Caravan. A.J. Lewis drove in two for Mount Carmel. Ryhan Hayes and Brandon Green drove in runs for Kenwood.

Homewood-Flossmoor 6, No. 10 Joliet Catholic 2
Percy Walters
and Cobi Sabo drove in two runs apiece and Jordan Fox had two hits for H-F.Justin Conant doubled twice and drove in two for JCA.

Sandburg 8, No. 12 Lemont 4
Jack Wolfe
allowed a run on four hits while striking out six in five innings and Kevin Cronin went 3-for-4 with three RBI as Sandburg opened the season with a victory.

 No. 15 Nazareth 5, Reavis 3
Carson Bartels
struck out eight in five innings and was a home run shy of the cycle for the 3-0 Roadrunners.

No. 18 Prairie Ridge 7, Lake Zurich 1
Ethan Routzahn
pitched five scoreless innings and Jacob Carpenter and Nick Schmidt had two hits and two RBI each for the Wolves. Nick Sanders had two hits for Lake Zurich.

Mahomet-Seymour 10, Danville 3
Tom Kenney’s
tear continued with three home runs and six RBI in the victory. Nick McHale added three hits for Mahomet-Seymour.

St. Viator 9, Timberline (ID) 5
Shaun Falbo
and Dan Sullivan hit two home runs apiece and Cole Kmet added a solo shot in the seventh as the Lions went deep five times in Phoenix, AZ. Falbo and Kmet had three hits apiece.

Vernon Hills 8, East Limestone (AL) 4
Brennan Reback
had three hits and Kyle Fasbinder had an RBI double in the six-run sixth for Vernon Hills.

Grayslake Central 3, Buffalo Grove 2
Benton Troehler’s
hit-and-run single in the top of the eighth was the difference in the Rams’ third-straight victory at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando. Justin Shepley allowed one hit while striking out six in four innings his varsity debut. Jack Vaselaney did not allow an earned run in his six innings of work for Buffalo Grove.

De La Salle 6, Jones 5
Fernando Mareno’s
sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh gave the Meteors the walk-off victory. Justin Jackson was 2-for-2 with two RBI and two runs. Tommy Duddleston picked up the win in relief.

Hubbard 8, Leo 4
Kejuan Skanes
homered, Josh Mayorga doubled and tripled and Ramon Barboza went 3-for-3 for Hubbard. Barboza also struck out nine and allowed one earned run in five innings for the win.

Lockport 10, Lincoln-Way Central 9
Anthony Cocco’s
fifth-inning double brought home the tying and eventual winning run as the Porters scored four in the fram to erase a 9-6 deficit. Ben Davis struck out four in two hitless innings of relief to pick up the win. Stephen Hill had three hits and Nick Strysik had a two-run triple for Lockport. Cam Post and Tyler Schuerg had three hits apiece for Lincoln-Way Central.

McHenry 10, Antioch 0
Bobby Miller
struck out seven in four hitless innings and Matt Nagel and Michael Lasiewicz had two hits apiece for McHenry.

Shepard 13, St. Francis De Sales 7
Kevin Carmody
and A.L. Alarcon had two hits and two RBI each for Shepard.

Normal Community 8, Valley View (AR) 2
Jackson Bronke
struck out 12 in 4 ⅓ innings and Normal overcame five errors to give him the victory.

Mundelein 11, Carbondale 1
Reid Rubio
and Reese Dolan doubled as Mundelein pounded out nine hits in the five-inning victory.

Morrison 8, Orion 4
Justin Jensen
tripled, homered and drove in three runs for Morrison. Joey Brackmeyer had three hits and Merick Kennedy drove in three runs in the victory.

Grant 5, Warren 4
James Pendley
had two RBI and Sean Lane saved the victory for Bryan Libby.

Andrew 10, Joliet West 0
Dan Heibron, Jack Crean
and Mike Carey had three hits apiece for Andrew.

Fenwick 3, Holy Trinity 2
Sherman Martin
scored two of Fenwick’s three runs, including the game-winner on a ground ball off the bat of Anthony Cavalieri in the bottom of the eighth. Starting pitcher Adam Williams allowed no runs on one hit in four innings, and Justin Sosa pitched a perfect eighth to record the win.

and Michael Kane had two RBI apiece for La.

Stevenson 2, Glenbrook South 0
Robert McGaha
and Brandon Grant drove in runs and five Stevenson pitchers combined on a two-hitter with eight strikeouts and one walk.

Lincoln-Way West 6, Tinley Park 4
Matt Monahan
had three RBI and Adam Knerr scored two runs for the Warriors.

Crystal Lake Central 4, Palatine 3
Anthony Mann
went 3-for-3 and David Wolf pitched four scoreless innings for Central. Brendan Walker drove in two runs for Palatine.

Deerfield 8, Elk Grove 3
Sam Fradin
had two hits and three RBI and Jacob Moeckler had three hits for Deerfield. Chuck Fleming had two hits for Elk Grove.

Bremen 12, Curie 0
Colin Walton
struck out 10 in four perfect innings and Tom Cassel finished off the no-hitter for Bremen.

Oswego 6, Bolingbrook 3
Carter Turnquist’s
two-run homer in the top of the sixth gave Oswego the lead for good. Luke Torrez pitched 3⅔ scoreless innings to pick up the victory in relief.

Willowbrook 5, Naperville North 0
Matt Pizur
went 3-for-3 and recorded the final out on strikes to preserve Cameron Zunkel’s shutout. Zunkel allowed three hits and two walks while striking out eight in 6⅔. Kyle Ferguson went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Naperville Central 3, York 1
Zac Bianucci, Liam Heath
and Ryan Eiermann pitched a combined no-hitter with 16 strikeouts for Naperville Central. Bianucci struck out six in three innings and Heath and Eiermann each had five in two. Conor Joyce had two doubles and Jack Hughes drove in two.

Glenbard South 3, Glenbard North 1
Sean Cooke
had an RBI triple and scored on Michael Ashe’s sacrifice fly as Glenbard South scored twice in the bottom of the first to take the lead for good.

Richards 9, Stagg 2
Ryan Renken
went 3-for-3 with two doubles and three RBI for Richards. Chris Zeschke and Mitch Crook each went 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI for Richards.

Sacred Heart-Griffin 11, Hersey 1
Cal Elvers
went 3-for-3 with two doubles and four RBI for the Cyclones.

Boylan 5, DeKalb 3
Carlos Artega
had two hits and Michael Cady pitched three scoreless innings to pick up the win in relief.

had three RBI and Julian Gonzalez and Tim Green had two hits apiece for DePaul.

Michael Liebow
pitched 4⅓ no-hit innings and Jordan Kaplan had two hits and two RBI for GBN.

Alex Panice
had two RBI and Hinsdale Central scored five in the sixth to win its season opener. Andrew Zapka pitched three scoreless relief innings for the win.

St. Charles East 11, Cary-Grove 6
Austin Gift
went 3-for-3 and Kyle Tiltges and John Dellostritto drove in three runs apiece for St. Charles East.

West Chicago 12, St. Edward 3
Garrett Hosticka
pitched a complete game and went 4-for-4 with three RBI for West Chicago. Hosticka pitched a four-hitter with 10 strikeouts and one walk.

Libertyville 13, Greenway 3
Connor Burke’s
two-run double ignited an eight-run first inning for Libertyville. Daniel Marks had three hits and four RBI in the victory.
