Keaton Rice
Name: Keaton Rice

Graduating Class: 2017

Position: C/OF

School: Geneseo

Height: 6-1
Weight: 175

Rank:
State: 80

The Skinny:
Rice made significant strides in his game over the course of the year, and was one of the top performers at the PBR Underclass Trials in June, which earned him an invitation to the Future Games. Will be a big riser when the 2017 rankings are updated after the Future Games. A long and projectable athlete, Rice is a left-handed hitting catcher and outfielder who should continue to add more and more power as he fills into his frame. Defensively, he has a strong arm (81 mph from the crouch), and reeled off consistent 1.94-2.01 pop times at the Underclass Trials. Somewhat under the radar prospect right now ... but we're guessing not for long.

Scouting Report:
6-foot-1, 175-pound, lanky, athletic build, projectable body, left-handed hitter. Hits from an open stance, smooth load, loose wrists, short stride. Above-average bat speed, short bat path with extension, fluid rhythm, 86 mph exit velocity, drove the baseball from gap-to-gap. Behind the plate showed soft hands, short arm action, high ¾ slot, with carry, 81 mph from the crouch, pop times ranged from 1.94-2.01. Ran a 7.45 60-time.
