This fall the Prep Baseball Report will be providing opportunities for all graduating classes to participate in class specific events throughout October. Every high school baseball player in the state will have the opportunity to attend a showcase specific to their class as we near the offseason. This is an important time of the year for high school recruiting as the early signing date is approaching in mid-November as well as early pre-season rankings to be updated.

Here’s a look at some of the events we will be offering this fall.

Central Illinois Prospect Identification Showcase

Sunday, September 29, 2013 at Illinois Central College

This event will bring some of the best prospects from the Central Illinois to East Peoria for a Prospect Identification Showcase open to all graduating classes from 2017-2014. This event is ideal for prospects in the Central part of the state who have yet to be discovered. This event is used as an identifier for future invite only events as well as identifying the top prospects in their respective class.

Unsigned Senior Showcase

Sunday, October 13, 2013 at The MAX

The Unsigned Senior Showcase is the perfect opportunity for all 2014 graduates who have yet to make a college commitment, get the opportunity to showcase themselves in front of the PBR scouting staff as well as college coaches from across the Midwest.

This event has an exceptional track record of selling out year after year with more than 100 prospects from across the state.  On top of that more than 60 college coaches from around the Midwest have routinely recruited this event.

Last year at this event 59 of the prospects in attendance made college commitments.

Class of 2015 Showcase

Sunday, October 20, 2013 at The MAX

The Class of 2015 Showcase is an excellent event for 2015 graduates in Illinois. This event is used as an identifier for the Invite Only Preseason All-State held every year prior to the start of the high school season.

More and more schools are recruiting prospects going into their junior year and it is important to identify those top prospects with the ability to play at the next level.

Underclass Showcase

Sunday, October 27, 2013 at The MAX

The Underclass Showcase is exclusively for 2016 and 2017 graduates. This event is also used as an identifier for the Underclass Invitational held just before the spring high school season begins. This event helps to identify the top 2016 prospects in the state as well as identifying the top 2017 prospects to be ranked when the initial class rankings are released.

Year after year the recruiting process speeds up and these events are becoming more and more important to be identified earlier in the recruiting process.

Southwest Suburban Prospect Identification

Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Elite Sports Performance

This event will bring some of the best prospects from Illinois to Oswego for a Prospect Identification Showcase open to all graduating classes from 2017-2014. This event is ideal for prospects in Illinois who have yet to be discovered. This event is used as an identifier for future invite only events as well as identifying the top prospects in their respective class.
