One of the top remaining arms in Illinois’ 2013 class is now off the board after RHP/INF River Pitlock from York HS gave his commitment to Butler University.

The 6-foot, 170-pound Pitlock has been a two-way varsity standout since his sophomore year. As a junior, Pitlock helped York win the West Suburban Silver Conference championship over Lyons Township and state champion Oak Park. Last spring, Pitlock posted a 4-0 record with a 1.48 ERA.

Pitlock is currently ranked No. 46 in Illinois’ 2013 class and 224 overall.

Alec Semersky, a 6-foot-3, 190-pound OF/1B from Libertyville HS, has committed to the University of Chicago. Semersky, who’s ranked No. 146 in Illinois’ 2013 class, is an excellent athlete, having run a 6.65 60.

Another Class of 2015 prospect is off the board. Josh Stowers, a 6-foot, 170-pound OF from Mount Carmel HS, has committed to Louisville. Stowers, who’s ranked No. 16 in Illinois’ 2015 class and 58 overall, is arguably the top athlete in his class. Stowers is the 10th sophomore to commit in Illinois.

Ryan Hickman, a 6-foot-1, 195-pound 1B from Springfield Sacred Heart-Griffin HS, has committed to Carl Sandburg College.

Jordan Wanner, a LHP/OF from Morton HS, has committed to Olivet-Nazarene.
