Junior RHP Zach Burdi picks his school, and other news

By Sean Duncan

Zach Burdi, the No. 3-ranked prospect in the Class of 2013, has verbally committed to the University of Iowa. Burdi, a 6-foot-3, 190-pound RHP from Downers Grove South HS, earned top prospect honors at the PBR Preseason All-State Showcase in February after he put on an impressive show that included an 88-90 mph fastball with late arm-side action.

Burdi, who’s the younger brother of Nick Burdi (now at Louisville), marks the seventh junior commitment in the top 10 Class of 2013 rankings in Illinois.
