No. 8 St. Charles North Defeats St. Charles East 5-1

GENEVA, IL – No. 8 St. Charles North took game two of the three game set and clinched the series against crosstown rival St. Charles East 5-1 Tuesday evening. The teams met at Northwestern Medicine Field in front of a strong crowd.

North got the scoring started in the top of the third when Zach Mettetal doubled deep into the left centerfield gap just off the glove of the leftfielder. Anthony Delisi scored the first run after he singled with two away.

Nine hole hitter Raphael Rhoades paced the North offense going 2-3 at the plate with an RBI single in the top of the fifth and a big two run double in the top of the sixth.

North starter Ryan Litavecz was in control the whole game allowing just one run in the sixth inning. He went the distance to earn the win allowing just four hits and striking out five.

Justin Galante was the leading hitter for East going 2-3 with a double and a run scored.

The teams will finish the season series tomorrow at North.
