St. Joseph-Ogden senior RHP Dalton Parker has been named this week’s Porsche Exchange Player of the Week thanks to his outstanding performance on the mound last week for the Spartans.

Earlier in the year Parker set the St. Joseph-Ogden career record in wins with 21. Last week, Parker, a Purdue commit and ranked No. 15 in Illinois’ 2016 class, got two starts for the Spartans. The result was 14 innings pitched, a perfect game, a no-hitter and a total of 28 strikeouts.

In his first start on Saturday, May 14^th, Parker twirled a perfect game against Prairie Central. He went seven innings and struck out 16 of the 21 batters faced. He threw a total of 72 pitches with 60 of them landing for strikes, good for a .833 strike percentage. He also threw a first pitch strike to 19 of the 21 batters faced.

In his next start on May 21st, Parker threw a no-hitter to lead the Spartans to a 7-0 victory over Oakwood in the Class 2A Regional Final. Parker went a complete game, seven innings and struck out 12 hitters. The only base-runner Parker allowed on the week was a hit-by-pitch.

"Dalton had an outstanding week on the mound,” said St. Joseph-Odgen coach Josh Haley. “He set the tone for the post season with his Regional performance.  Dalton has a tremendous work ethic and continues to improve himself and his teammates each day.”

On the season Parker is 9-1, 64 innings, 129 strikeouts, seven runs, two earned, nine walks and a 0.22 ERA. He also has five shutouts to go along with his perfect game and no-hitter from this past week. 

Parker’s career stats are as follows: 23-1 record, 163.1 IP, 301 K’s, 22 runs, six earned runs, 43 walks, 13 shutouts and a 0.26 ERA.

For his efforts, Parker has been named the Porsche Exchange Player of the Week for the week of May 14 – May 21.
