Prep Baseball Report

Stats Posted for Top Prospect Showcase, 6.14

The Prep Baseball Report hosted its Top Prospect Showcase on Thursday, June 14 at Silver Cross Field in Joliet.  The 6th annual Top Prospect event has become one of the premier scouting events of the summer and once again the talent did not disappoint.  With more than 75 colleges in attendance we saw 12 sub 7.0 60 times and 20 guys throw over 84 mph on the mound.

The outfield arm strength at the event was most impressive as we had 20 guys throw over 84 mph with 6 guys throwing over 88, led by Jeremiah Figueroa and Alex Mumm, whom both hit 91 mph.

The event was highlighted by Ricardo Ramirez from De La Salle HS, Class of 2013 who is a 6-foot-1, 200-pound third baseman that impressed with his fluid footwork and soft hands defensively.  Offensively, Ramirez exhibited raw power in a smooth, easy swing as he sprayed line drives to the deep parts of all fields.

Jake Ring, led an impressive group of athletes by running an event best 6.6 60.
