Top 10 Player Profiles of 2015: No. 8 Ethan Skender

Over the next couple weeks we are going to countdown the 2015 calendar year with a look at the top ten viewed profiles of 2015. After drilling down into our google analytics we have compiled a list of the ten most visited profiles by you the reader in 2015.

No. 8 Ethan Skender


Brenden HeissSS/OF Ethan Skender (Metamora, 2015) originally committed to Kansas State, this July decided to decommit and attend State College of Florida instead. He comes in as the 8th most viewed profile of 2015.

Skender finished his high school career as the No. 6 ranked player in Illinois and 84th overall. Following his senior season the right-handed hitter was a 2015 PBR First Team All-State selection. Hit .495 with an incredible 33 extra base hits in 107 at bats; 21 doubles, four triples, eight home runs, 32 RBI, and 39 runs scored his senior season. This June he was selected in the 31st round of the MLB Draft by the Cincinnati Reds. This fall announced he committed to attend Arizona State next year.

Skender also participated in last winters Super 60. At the event he exhibited explosiveness at the plate and produced a number of hard line drives. Here is video of him at the Super 60 last winter.


Scouting Report

2/16/14 - 5-foot-11, 170-pound athlete, showed the ability to play both on the infield and outfield. Displayed quick twitch actions in multiple facets of the game, 6.95 runner in the 60. Defensively plays the game fast, feet work extremely well, plays through the baseball both in the outfield and on the infield. Strong arm with a quick arm action, 89 mph across the infield and 88 mph from the outfield. Arm action is athletic, short and loose from a high ¾ slot. On the infield played well on the move with well above average body control. Offensively hits from a balanced stance, longer stride. Quick athletic hands, gets through the baseball quickly, aggressive swing. Shows a high level of barrel awareness, advanced bat speed, shows pop in his bat. 86 mph exit velocity from the tee.
