The fall Underclass Showcase is now in the books and a number of young prospects have emerged as high level talents in their respective classes. One of the more impressive performances of the day was by RHP Ryan Hodgett (St. Francis, 2016). Hodgett posted the top velocity on the mound touching 88 mph with a lively two-seam fastball.

3B/RHP Mitch Owens (Moline, 2016) also showed well on the mound topping out at 86 mph with an easy arm action. Owens displayed a highly athletic and projectable game and was clearly one of the top prospects in attendance.

Max Franklin (St. Rita, 2016) also put together an impressive set of numbers as the 6-foot-3, 180-pound RHP/OF topped out at 85 mph on the mound and 88 mph from the outfield while running a 7.04 60. His 60 time was second to only OF Alec Barger (Central, 2016) who ran an event best 6.95. Barger also posted one of the best exit velocities from the tee at 88 mph, bested by 3B John Rugen (La Salle Peru, 2016) who led the event with an 89 mph exit velocity.

SS Matt Bottcher (Romeoville, 2016) displayed the strongest arm on the infield at 81 mph across the diamond. C Joe Laudont (Kaneland, 2016) stood out behind the plate recording the best pop time of the day at 2.08.
