Unsigned Senior Showcase Spotlight: Prospect's Trey Compton

Trey ComptonThe Prep Baseball Report Unsigned Senior Showcase at the Max in McCook, IL will take place on Sunday, October 12, 2014. The open showcase is geared towards all uncommitted 2015 graduates, and will include several area colleges in attendance. Nearly 70 schools were in attendance at last year’s event, and we expect a similar number at this year’s event.

Prospect’s Trey Compton is a 5-foot-9, 160-pound second baseman/middle infielder who impressed back in June at the Prospect Identification Showcase.

Here’s a look at Compton’s scouting report from the PBR scouting staff:

Trey Compton Scouting Report

Hits from wide open stance with short stride and above average bat speed producing 85 mph exit velocity. Hands move back at load with smooth rhythm creating slightly uphill bat path with line drives from gap-to-gap. Threw 70 mph across the infield from a short ¾ arm action with accuracy showing soft hands and fluid infield actions through the baseball. Runs a 7.33 60-yard dash.
