Unsigned Senior Showcase Spotlight: Lincoln-Way West's Bailey Magruder

Bailey MagruderThe Prep Baseball Report Unsigned Senior Showcase at the Max in McCook, IL will take place on Sunday, October 12, 2014. The open showcase is geared towards all uncommitted 2015 graduates, and will include several area colleges in attendance.

Over the next week we will preview several of the players who will be in attendance, starting with Lincoln-Way West’s Bailey Magruder. The 5-foot-11 senior catcher, ranked No. 230 in Illinois’ 2015 class, recently impressed at the Unsigned Senior Games in August at Plunkett Park.

Bailey Magruder Scouting Report:

Hits from a slightly open setup, simple approach, hands held high, barrel starts it ready position, minimal hand movement in load, short stride, producing short, level bat path with 81 mph exit velocity.  Line drive type hitter, showed pull tendencies during batting practice.  Defensively, threw 75 mph from the crouch from short, over the top arm slot with accuracy.  Pop times ranged between 2.05-2.18 to second.  Showcased soft hands, quick feet, clean exchanges from glove to hand throwing.  Ran a 7.33 60, 4.65 from home to first.
