This is the second installment of the Illinois Power 25 Team Rankings. Weather wreaked havoc throughout much of the state this week and most teams had to scramble to get games in. Below is a breakdown of the what happened this past week.

Climbing

+ Jacobs (7-1) – Made the most of the one game they played this week, beating Woodstock North 20-2. Now No. 3.

+ St. Laurence (8-2) – Won both of the games they played this week, beating Lincoln-Way West 12-3 and St. Ignatius 5-1. Now ranked No. 4

+ Brother Rice (8-2) – A convincing 13-0 win over fellow top 25 opponent, Marist, in their one game this week.

+ Naperville Central (7-2) - Beat Glenbard North 7-4 in their one game this week. Climbed four spots.

+ Sandburg (5-0) – Won against Minooka and Thornwood this week to remain undefeated. Only allowed three runs in their two games.

+ Lincoln-Way North (7-3) – The Pheonix went 4-1 on the week. Now sit at No. 17.

+ Champaign Central (10-2) – Played a tough schedule this week and came away 2-1. Beat Memorial (NJ) 2-1 and Columbus North (IN) 7-3.
 
Sinking

+ Edwardsville (9-3) – Dropped to No. 6 after losing to Alton. They went 2-1 on the week.

+ Plainfield North (5-2) – Dropped a couple of spots after splitting with Minooka.  

+ Waterloo (6-3) – A solid 6-5 win over Christian Brothers (MO) but a tough 3-2 loss to Freeburg. Went 2-1 on the week.

+ Marist (6-2) – The only game they got played on the week was a 13-0 loss to No. 5 Brother Rice.

+ Joliet Catholic (4-4) – Lost 8-6 to fellow Top 25 opponent St. Laurence.

+ Mundelein (7-3) – Bats went cold this week for Mundelein as they went 0-2. Lost 3-0 to Libertyville and 2-1 to Hononegah.

New to the Top 25

+ No. 16 Alton (10-3) – A big 4-1 win over Top 10 Edwardsville and two other wins this week. They go from unranked last week to No. 16.

+ No. 20 Libertyville (7-1) – Won three games on the week highlighted by a 3-0 shutout win over Top 25 Mundelein.

+ No. 22 Normal Community (10-2) – Went 3-1 on the week. Swept Champaign Centennial and beat Belleville East 7-4.
