Updated Illinois Power 25 Team Rankings

In the fourth installment of the Illinois Power 25 Team Rankings, St. Laurence stays at No. 1 for the fourth week in a row. Neuqua Valley now No. 3, remains undefeated after a 5-0 week and made the biggest climb of anyone in the Top 25.

Below is a breakdown of the what happened over the past week.

CLIMBING

+ Mundelein (18-0) - The Mustangs, No. 2 in the Power 25, continue to roll. They swept a three-game set with Waukegan and knocked off Lakes 13-2.

+ Neuqua Valley (18-0-1) - The Wildcats made the biggest move of the week, climbing all the way to No. 3 in the Power 25. Neuqua went 5-0 on the week, sweeping a three-game set with Wheaton Warrenville South, knocking off Joliet Academy 13-3 and Waubonsie 2-0.

+ Plainfield North (14-3) - Went 4-0 on the week and are now No. 11 in the Power 25. The Tigers took two games from Romeoville, defeated Providence Catholic 7-6 and Oswego 10-0.

+ Lincoln-Way Central (11-4) - Went 4-1 on the week and took two from then No. 24 Andrew by scores of 7-6 and 9-6. They also beat Romeoville 9-3 and Oak Forest 8-5. Now No. 15 in the Power 25.

+ Huntley (15-3) - The Red Raiders went 5-0 on the week including an impressive three-game sweep of Jacobs by the scores of 8-7, 4-1 and 4-2. Now No. 16 in the Power 25.

+ Sandburg (10-2) - The Eagles bumped up to No. 20 in the Power 25 after a 3-0 week. Swept two games against Stagg and defeated Tinley Park 5-1.

SINKING

+ Lemont (16-2) - An up and down 3-1 week for the Indians. Beat Lincoln-Way East 4-1 but lost to Thornton Fractional South 5-4.

+ Plainfield South (11-5-1) - A tough 0-2 week for the Cougars. Lost to now No. 21 Plainfield Central 3-0 and 3-1.

NEW TO THE TOP 25

+ Plainfield Central (15-4) - The Wildcats went 4-0 on the week including a two-game sweep of then No. 11 Plainfield South. Plainfield Central also took down Yorkville (16-3) by a score of 4-3 and Plainfield East 5-3.

+ New Trier (13-3) - Big 5-0 week for the Trevians propel them back into the Power 25. Outscored opponents 51-19 on the week. Now No. 23 in the Power 25.

+ York (16-2) - York makes their way into the Power 25 for the first time this season after a 5-0 week. The Dukes swept a three-game set with Proviso West, defeated Downers Grove South 2-1 and Glenbard West 7-4.
