Recruiting Roundup: Who's Heading Where?

Dillan Chamness, OF, Benton, 2016
McKendree University

2.15.15 - 5-foot-6, 150-pound left-handed hitting OF hits from a balanced setup, hands load back smoothly, short stride, short, slightly uphill bat path, drove the baseball to left-center field in batting practice, 75 mph exit velocity off the tee. Defensively, threw 73 mph from the outfield from short, high ¾ arm slot with some accuracy. Ran a 7.68 60.


Matthew Nagel, OF, McHenry, 2016
McHenry County College

10.11.15 - 5-foot-11, 180-pound right-handed hitting outfielder. Offensively hits from a balanced, slightly open stance. Short, heel lift stride with good balance. Short, level swing path with extension. Pull hitter with some pop. Showed strength thru contact with 85 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.60. Defensively has a short arm action from an over the top arm slot. Fluid footwork with a slow exchange. Showcased raw arm strength throwing 88 mph from the outfield.

Patrick Humphrey, RHP, McHenry, 2016
Marian University

2/22/15- 6-foot-3, 165-pound, right-handed pitcher. On the mound works form an over the top arm angle with a short, stiff 2-part arm action. Tall and fall delivery with smooth rhythm. Falls off to first base side. Straight fastball sat 72-73 mph. Curveball showed 11-5 shape at 58-59 mph. Changeup sat 64-68 mph.

 

Anthony Agne, 2B, Plainfield North, 2016
Joliet JC

10.11.15 - Average build 5-foot-10, 155-pound right-handed hitting infielder. Offensively, flashed a quick bat. Short, level path through the hitting zone, and mid-opposite field approach during batting practice. Balanced, closed setup, short stride and average balance. Registered an 82 mph exit velocity. Defensively, steady hands and body control on the infield.  Clean, short arm action and a ¾ slot. Clocked at 77 mph across the diamond. Also, ran 7.30 60 yard dash.

Parker Nolan, RHP, Schaumburg, 2016
Lake Land

Parker Nolan6.12.14 - 6-foot-4, 180-pound lanky RHP with long limbs and room for projection. Pitched from a full windup delivering 76-79 mph fastballs with slight run to his arm side from long ¾ arm clean arm action. Slowed arm on 66-67 curveball with gradual 11/5, sweepy action. Showed feel for a 68-71 mph changeup with fade, which he consistently threw for strikes. Nolan looks extremely young and projects to throw harder based on frame and his relatively clean delivery.

Harper College

Dominic Carmignani10.11.15 - Strong 5-foot-8, 180-pound right-handed hitting infielder. Offensively, simple swing, level bat path through the hitting zone and not a lot of moving parts. Registered an 87 mph exit velocity. Starts from an open and balanced setup. Slight pre-pitch load, short stride. Flashed a line drive approach during batting practice. Defensively, long arm action and high ¾ slot. Clocked at 74 mph across the infield. Also, ran a 7.22 60.

Angel Torres, SS, St. Charles North, 2016
Judson

Angel Torres10.2.15 - Average build 5-foot-10, 165-pound right-handed hitting shortstop. Defensively, made every play hit his way during game play. Made an outstanding play on a ball hit deep to his backhand side, planted and got off a strong accurate throw that barely beat the runner at first base. Reliable hands, short-arm action and an accurate arm across the diamond. Offensively, starts from a wide base, slight load, hands low. Creates above-average bat speed.
