The 2015 high school season is just around the corner.  Leading up to the start of the season we are going to take a quick glance at many teams from across the state.

OUTLOOK

Head Coach John Bogner and his 2015 Highland Trojans will look to build off of last season's 10-14 record. The Trojans return five starters and two pitchers this spring.  Returning for Highland is senior leader RHP/3B Clay Keltner.  Keltner, a Cornerstone University recruit, finished his Junior campaign 3-5 on the bump with a 3.65 ERA, and 59 Ks.  Senior shortstop Zach Syvertsen will be a key piece to the Trojan offense after hitting .315 last spring.  Jeremy O'Donnell, a senior catcher, returns for his third varsity season; he threw out 10 of 18 runners last year as Junior. Junior southpaw Jordan Petty is a newcomer to the program after moving to Indiana from Colorado.  Petty recently committed to Purdue-Calumet and should be a big piece to the Trojan's rotation this spring.  Andrew Kinley is another reliable Junior arm that should see a lot of innings. In the relief role for Highland this spring is senior Kevin O'Donnell.  Bogner has his group working hard this off-season: "Our kids have been lifting and running at 6 AM harder than ever.  We started a community service called "DIG EM OUT" and each athlete is to shovel snow for four houses in the community.  Our kids have responded well and are buying in to the hard work." Highland will have to compete with powers Andrean, Munster and Griffith to stay a top the conference standings.
