OUTLOOK

The Plainfield Quakers and Head Coach Jeff McKeon had a strong 2014 campaign in which they finished 22-8 overall and won the Mid-State conference championship.  Plainfield put together a nice run through sectional play advancing to the finals before losing to eventual 4A State Runner-Up Terre Haute North. This season will be more of a "retooling" year according to McKeon.  Plainfield returns just three positional starters and three arms in 2015, but should still be able to compete for the conference championship. Returning for the Quakers is senior 2B Peyton Jones, a .344 hitter last year with 22 RBI and 2 HR. Antonio Lucciola became a starter halfway through season in 2014 and hit .444.  RHP Nick Cottongim, a Vincennes recruit, returns for his final season at Plainfield.  As a Junior Cottongim went 3-0 on the mound with 3 saves, a 1.52 ERA and 36 Ks.  Behind the dish is Junior Kalib Clark, a .307 hitter as a sophomore. McKeon will also look to senior RHP Evan Yoho for production on the mound.  As a Junior Yoho went 2-1 with 7 Ks in 15 IP.
