The 2015 high school season is just around the corner.  Leading up to the start of the season we are going to take a quick glance at many teams from across the state.

OUTLOOK

The Wawasee Warriors will look to improve upon last year's 11-16 season.  Head Coach Brent Doty's team returns 10 class of 2015 letter winners from last year who saw significant varsity time (6 starters, 4 situational starters).  Last year's team was the first to post double digit wins since 2009 and the first to win a sectional game since 2010.  After starting conference play 0-7, they won four of their last seven, and in doing so ended a 19 game conference losing streak.  The Warriors are led by senior SS/RHP Gage Reinhard, a .412 hitter last year with 16 RBI and an OBP of .520.  Senior Nate Prescott returns to the lineup after hitting .312 with 8 RBI as a Junior.  Other seniors Doty will rely on are OF/RHP Drew Anderson (.268 BA, 10 RBI, 11 SB), 2B/RHP Brett Carson (.270 BA, 14 RBI) and OF Kurtis Liston (.300 BA, 10 RBI).  Junior 1B/RHP Harrison Shortill returns to the Warrior lineup after hitting .375 as a sophomore.  RHP Lucas Garza, another Junior, should be a contributor on the mound.  Garza pitched 4 2/3 innings as a sophomore, finishing with a 1.63 ERA and 6 Ks.  Wawasee will have to compete with Plymouth, Elkhart Memorial and Northridge in order to stay atop the conference standings.
