DeAndre' Davis, Kevin Cox Help Lead No. 17 LC Over No. 24 Roncalli

Opening night saw two Class 4A ranked squads square off with No. 17 Lawrence Central making the trip to No. 24 Roncalli. The Rebels took to the board early with a pair of sac flies by 2015 Tyler Schoettle and Nicholas Nagy. 2015 RHP Christian Beard, an Indiana recruit, got the nod for the Rebels and was able to work through the first two innings without trouble. 

A bases loaded walk and a three RBI double by Kevin Cox in the top of the 3rd flipped the momentum to Lawrence Central. The Bears added five more and ran to a 9-2 victory to start the season. Dre Davis reached base on all five plate appearances going 3-3 with two RBI for LC. Cox finished his night going 3-4 with 3 RBI. 

2015 LHP Matthew Burleton settled down after giving up two in his first two innings of work striking out three and giving up just three hits.
