By Phil Wade

Indiana Executive Director

Brandon YohoFishers High School senior SS/RHP Brandon Yoho recently committed to IPFW. The 6-foot-1, 180 pound Yoho is ranked No. 47 in Indiana's class of 2015 rankings.

PBR: Ultimately, why did you choose IPFW?

Yoho: I chose IPFW because it’s a great baseball opportunity, and I really liked the coaches there.  It’s also not too far away from Fishers where I live.

PBR: Where did IPFW first see you compete?

Yoho: IPFW first saw me play in a tournament over in Cincinnati this summer.

PBR: What role do the coaches expect you to play when you first arrive on campus?

Yoho: They expect me to compete for a middle infield spot right away.

PBR: When did you take your first visit up to IPFW?

Yoho: I visited IPFW at the end of September.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Yoho: I was also considering Bellarmine University and Indiana Wesleyan.

PBR: Who has had the biggest impact on you as a baseball player?

Yoho: The person who has had the biggest impact is my travel coach, Jim Reboulet.  He has been my coach since 5th grade.  He has taught me so much about baseball, and how to play the game the right way.

PBR: Who do you play for in the summer/fall and how has playing with them helped you as a baseball player?

Yoho: I play for the Indiana Dirtbags.  We have always played against the best competition so that has helped me develop my skills to where they are.

PBR: What are your goals personally as you enter the off-season?

Yoho: During the off-season I want to hit the weight room to bulk up, and work on increasing my fastball velocity.

PBR: What are your goals personally and as a team this coming spring?

Yoho: This spring I will be a top pitcher for my high school, I want to win the most games I can for us.  As a team I want to win our first Sectional Championship and eventually the State Title.

PBR: What were you stats last season at Fishers?

Yoho: I hit .326 with 1 HR and 22 RBI. On the mound I was 6-3 with a 3.33 ERA over 48.1 IP.

PBR: Who is the toughest pitcher and/or hitter you've faced in Indiana?

Yoho: Tre Gantt from HSE is probably the best hitter I have faced.  It didn’t seem to matter where you threw the pitch or what pitch you threw he would make solid contact.

PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?

Yoho: My most memorable baseball moment was during my sophomore year on our spring break trip to Tennessee.  Coach Cherry gave me the opportunity to start the last game of the trip.  This was my first varsity pitching appearance, and I ended up throwing a complete game no-hitter.
