Evan GilesA dominate performance on the mound from 2015 Indiana State commit Evan Giles (left) gave the Franklin Grizzly Cubs everything they needed to overcome Mid-State conference foe Mooresville on Tuesday night. Giles kept Pioneer hitters off balance all evening striking out 14 and allowing just three hits in six plus innings of work.

Franklin got the scoring started in the third with three runs on four hits. The Grizzly Cubs added two in the fourth and three in the fifth to take an 8-0 lead into the seventh. After a pitching change, Mooresville rallied back adding five in the last frame, but were unable to recover the large deficit.

Franklin was led offensively by Andrew Hartkorn who went 3-3 with an RBI, a walk, and two runs. Ross Barr was 2-4 with an RBI. Mooresville got RBIs from Zach Grider, Traver Harper, and Tyler Early.
