Chesterton, IN--- Duneland Athletic Conference foes met Tuesday inning for a battle for first place in the conference.  The Chesterton Trojans entered at 10-4 and 5-1 in conference while the Crown Point Bulldogs entered at 10-2 and 6-0 in the DAC.

Crown Point sent highly touted sophomore Noah Burkholder to the mound while Chesterton countered with senior Aery Pratt. Chesterton wasted no time in getting to the young arm as they would bat around in the first inning, pounding out four singles and scoring five runs.

Aery Pratt was really good for three innings. The senior faced the minimum number of hitters through three.  The Trojans would break through in the fourth when leadoff hitter, Alex Nickla, and Glenn Hecht hit back to back homeruns. Crown Point would go on to score one more run in the inning to make it 5-3.

Crown Point seemed to seize the momentum in the fifth when Nickla doubled, followed by Hecht reaching on a HBP, setting up Ball State commit Zach Plesac to deliver the big blow, a three run home run to tie the game at six apiece.

Chesterton, however, responded in the 6th with four runs of their own.  The big hit of the game was an RBI single off the bat of shortstop Cory Rusboldt.  Chesterton would go on to win the game 10-8.
