Two Team Indiana Catchers from the 2013 MWFG off to Hot Starts at the Plate

Terre Haute North sophomore T.J. Collett and Hanover Central Junior Jesse Wilkening are off to hot starts offensively in the young 2014 season.  Both were members of Team Indiana in last year's Midwest Future Games, and both are a top the list in homreuns, slugging and RBI heading into this weekend according to the Max Preps Indiana statistics.

Collett (left), ranked as the No. 1 player in the state in the 2016 player rankings and No. 2 in the overall 2016 PBR player rankings, leads the state in homeruns with seven in only eight games played.  

The left handed hitter hit a total of nine homreuns as a freshman last season.  Collett currently leads the state in slugging percentage at 1.761 and is third in RBI with 16. Through eight games he is hitting .524 in 21 at bats.
Jesse Wilkening
The No.26 ranked prospect in Indiana's 2015 class, Jesse Wilkening (right), leads the state with a blistering.762 batting average.  In seven games played he is 16 for 21 at the plate.  Wilkening also leads the state in RBI with 21 and is fifth in slugging percentage at 1.476.  He ranks third in homeruns with four. 

Both Collett and Wilkening are uncommitted.
