Updated Class of 2014 Rankings

PBR Indiana

Now that the fall season is officially under wraps, PBR Indiana has updated the Class of 2014 rankings.

The biggest change at the top is Brandon Murray taking over the No. 1 spot.  Murray, previously ranked No. 2, continued to blow up this past spring and summer, getting his fastball up to 95 mph.  The South Carolina commit has an electric arm with a sharp breaking ball at 79-80 and continues to improve his stock.

At No. 2 is Jonah Patten.  Patten, a University of Arkansas commit, was up to 93 mph with his fastball this past season with a loose arm and a lot of whip.  Both Patten and Murray are potential high draft picks.

Indiana University commit, Logan Sowers, has moved up to the No. 3 spot.  Sowers, previously No. 5, is a special outfielder with raw power at the plate.  He possesses an above average arm and runs a 6.9 60.

Rounding out the Top 5 is two of the best shortstops in the Midwest in Drew Ellis and Macy Holdsworth.  Ellis, ranked No. 4, will be heading to Louisville next fall while the No. 5 Holdsworth will attend Indiana University.

A new comer to the Top 10 is Purdue University commit, Alec Olund. The 6-foot-1, 170 pound athlete runs a 6.83 60 with fluid actions in the outfield and displays some gap to gap power at the plate.
